Preserving tissue sampling and precise positioning -
a high-tech single use cannula for neuronavigation systems
Computer-assisted and software-controlled neuronavigation is becoming increasingly important for neurosurgery and brain biopsies, as it allows surgical processes and tissue sampling to become safer and more effective while reducing possible complications.
When used with Brainlab® or Medtronic® navigation systems, the navigable brain biopsy cannula further optimizes the biopsy process with its easy and safe handling. With the help of precisely pre-assembled markers, and in combination with navigation systems, surgeons are able to determine the exact position of the instrument at any given time.
The functional design of the ergonomic transparent cannula is a characteristic feature of Neuromedex brain biopsy cannulas, as the shape and signal colours of the instrument allow both the tactile and visual control of the cutting window simultaneously.
The cannula is designed as a single-use, disposable instrument and thus minimises the risk of infection, which is significantly higher for reusable instruments due to insufficient cleaning of the tiny lumina. This ensures improved patient safety and reduces consequential costs. Furthermore, there are no costs for the processing and wear of reusable instruments, further reducing costs.
Permanent control of the cutting window
due to both visual and haptic markings of the recessed grips ensures patient safety
Compatible with Brainlab® or Medtronic® navigation systems
Precise depth guide
due via ruler and depth control with ergonomic locking screw
Easy tissue sampling
due to precisely sharpened window edges and the cannula tube's specific cutting angle
Aspiration without affecting the cannula
due to flexible and soft aspiration tube
